U Mumba showed plenty of resolve and belief while turning the tables on the Jaipur team in their last match and will be looking to carry the momentum into their third league match of the 6th Vivo Pro Kabaddi League against Haryana Steelers on Saturday.
U Mumba coach Gholamreza Mazandarani felt his team played a good game and is looking for more cohesive and stronger performances as the league progresses.
“We had a few learnings in the game against Jaipur but overall it was a good game and our aim is to only get stronger and better,” said Mazandarani.
Happy with the performance of his raiders Siddharth Desai and Rohit Baliyan, the coach was also looking forward to his other Iranian raider Abolfazl Maghsoudlou to come into his own.
The raiding department will be the least of the coach’s worries if the performance of Desai and Baliyan from the first two games is to be any indication. And with the defence, marshalled by captain Fazal Atrachali, also capable of playing at a much higher level, U Mumba, with their all-round strength will look to gain an early edge over their opponents.
When asked whether he was expecting a better performance from the defenders, Mazandarani said, “There needs to be better coordination in the defence, which is sometimes hard and takes time. But we will get there. Raiders also form a key role in defence.”
U Mumba and Haryana have faced off on three occasions in the last season with U Mumba holding a 2-1 advantage.
