Christ Church SC staged a remarkable strong recovery to put it across Poisur Gymkhana in a tense and keenly contested Third Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Friday.
Poisur Gymkhana started well to open up a healthy 2-0 lead but Christ Church produced a gallant fight back to turn things around. Rushabh Gada and Rahul Salian struck a goal each to give the Gymkhana side a good start, before Christ Church strikers Marshal Chettiar, Fahad Vanjara and Altamesh Shaikh capitalized on the chances to score a goal each and help their team clinch a tight win.
Earlier, Freunds SC had things much their own way as they blanked Universal Sports Academy 6-0. Farhat Mohammed scored four goals while Karan Thakur and John D’Souza added the other two goals.

Christ Church 3 (Marshal Chettiar, Fahad Vanjara, Altamesh Shaikh) beat Poisur Gymkhana 2 (Rushabh Gada, Rahul Salian).
