Cheddanagar Football Fanatics made a positive winning start as they trounced D.K. Pharma SC by a convincing 3-0 in a Premier Division match of the Mumbai Football League 2023-2024 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra. Joston Cardoz struck the opening goal in the 27th minute before Ajinkya Birajdar scored two goals, one on either side of the break to ensure Cheddanagar started with a bang.

Cardoz converted a penalty to give Cheddnagar the lead in the 27th minute. Cheddanagar continued to call the shots and managed to double the lead with Birajdar scoring the first of his two goals in the 42nd minute to give his team a 2-0 half-time lead.

Seven minutes into the second period, Birajdar once again was in the thick of action scoring his second and the team’s third goal to seal the margin of victory and collect the full three points.
Earlier, in a Super Division encounter, India On Track proved too good for Young Guns FC and romped to a fluent 7-1 win. Combining well as a united India On Track scored through Nathan Braganza, Pujit Dubey, Joshua D’Souza, Saurabh Nikam, Sebastian Almeida, Laitonjam Meetai and Nandhabalaji Shettiyar, all contributing one goal each, while Arnav Krishnamoorthy scored Young Guns’ consolation goal.
