Champions JVPG record another impressive win


Defending champions Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana (JVPG) produced another impressive collective performance to cruise past Bombay Gymkhana by a 3-0 margin in a round of 32 match of the Billiards & Snooker Association of Maharashtra organised Greatwhite Electricals-BSAM Mumbai Snooker League 2022 and played at the Dadar Club.

JVPG grabbed the initiative when Krishna Saraf (+30 handicap) overcame Rahul Bisht (+55) 105-87 in the first frame. Later Rahul Sachdev and Dhirya Bhandari (+8) combined perfectly to scrape past the Bombay Gymkhana duo of Vivek Wadhwa and Gautam Kirtane (+22) winning the frame 56-44 to give JVPG a 2-0 lead. JVPG maintained the momentum as Adit Raja (+35) went on to win the third frame defeating Prashant AAggarwal (+50) 119-100 to close out the contest.

In other matches, Andheri Recreation Club ‘A’ beat NSCI 3-2, Cricket Club of India beat Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana 3-2 and Santacruz Gymkhana beat Andheri Recreation Club ‘B’ 3-2

Cricket Club of India beat Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana 3-2 (Nikhil Ootam (+20) lost Aakash Ramteke (+35) 60-90, Sandeep Gulrajani/Siddharth Khemani (+30) bt Jatin Kompani/Parth Salot  (+27) 78-64, Raj Rana (+45) lost Shakir Qureshi (+40) 101-111, Nikhil Ootam bt Anil Sahani (+50) 99-83, Sandeep Gulrajani (+50) bt Aakash Ramteke 113-67).
