MDFA Elite Div football
Union Bank of India ( UBI) dropped two valuable points as they conceded a late goal and forced to play out a fighting 1-1 draw with promoted outfit Central Railway in an opening Elite Division encounter of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2018-2019, and played at the Mumbai Sports Arena, Andheri Sports Complex on Thursday.
The Union Bank outfit started in rousing fashion and against the run of play took the lead through Dwayne Vaz in the 19th minute.
They looked set to hold onto to their slender lead, but their hopes were dashed as the railwaymen came up with a last-ditched effort and managed to score the crucial equalizer through Shahbaz Pathan in the 87th minute.
Results – Elite Div: Union Bank of India 1 (Dwayne Vaz 19th min) drew with Central Railway 1 (Shahbaz Pathan 87th min).
