Central Railway and Mastan YMCA clinched the women and men’s crowns respectively in the Nagpada Basketball Association (NBA) organized NBA Invitational Basketball tournament and played under floodlights at the NBA basketball courts.
Riding on the fine performance of Shruti Arvind who played the lead role with 28 points Central Railway defeated Western Railway 76-67 in the women’s final. Central Railway was in complete control and enjoyed a 41-35 half-time lead.
In the men’s final which witnessed a close contest, Mastan YMCA fought back and got the better of Transpire Sports by a narrow 70-68 point margin after trailing 32-40 at the break.
In the women’s match Shruti received good support from Natasha Phanse 18 points, Manisha Dange 12 points and Kareena S.13 points and took Central past Western and emerge champions.
Western Railway’s spearhead in the attack Shireen M. scored a high of 31 points while teammates Kritika G. and Aswathi S. chipped in with 13 and 10 points respectively.
Mastan YMCA produced a combined fighting performance with Ashraf Siddique19 points, Sameer Qureshi 13 points, Shamsher Makran 11 points and Salman Qureshi 10 points all making useful contributions to seal the win.
Siddhant Shinde 21 points, Yousuf Sayed 20 points and Sanket Kalbhor 15 points were responsible for keeping Transpire Sports in the fight.

Men: Mastan YMCA (Ashraf Siddique19, Sameer Qureshi 13, Shamsher Makran 11, Salman Qureshi 10) beat Transpire Sports (Siddhant Shinde 21, Yousuf Sayed 20, Sanket Kalbhor 15) 70-68 (half-time: 32-40).
