Central Railway enjoyed a smooth ride as they claimed to the women’s crown by defeating young challengers F. United by a easy 8-2 margin in the final round match of the Bandra Gymkhana 30th Open Rink Hockey Tournament, played at the Bandra Gym’s tennis courts.
The Central Railway women worked in unison to outsmart their opponents and dominated play from the start before running away with the match.
Sarita Minz was the star performer and along with her teammates, Jamila Bano and Soundra Y. scored two goals each. Ranjeeta and Rashmi Singh added the other two goals for Central Railway. For F. United both the goals were scored by Tanaz Mohammed who had a good game.
Earlier the semi-finals witnessed contrasting results with F. United defeating Freunds SC by a narrow 4-3 scoreline and Central Railway destroying Rhema Sports Foundation 13-0.
