In recognition of her tremendous achievements, the CCI Executive Committee headed by their sporting president Premal Udani and the Badminton Sub-Committee were present to honour Taarini, coach Hufrish Nariman and the youngster’s proud parents.

Udani presented Taarini with a beautiful plaque, a cash award and gift vouchers.

The talented 14-year-old Taarini, who trains under renowned coach and former Indian ace badminton legend Hufrish Nariman at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy at the CCI courts, had clinched the Girls’ Singles Under-15, Girls’ Doubles Under-17, and the Mixed Doubles Under-17 titles at the FZ FORZA Finnish Youth 2021 Badminton Championship in Finland in early November. A fortnight later, Taarini repeated the feat winning the Girls Under-15 Singles and Doubles title and the Girls’ Under-15 Mixed Doubles event at the Swedish Youth Games 2021 at Malmo.

Addressing the distinguished guests Udani encouraged Taarini, saying, “truly, you have it in you to excel in whatever you set to achieve. We can only see you reaching the glorious heights of some of our other badminton players who have excelled themselves in the last so many years. I am sure whether it is P.V. Sindhu or Saina Nehwal you will surpass all of them with your zeal, with your dedication, and with your commitment.”

“On a lighter note, some of us could do with the discipline that you have. Becoz over a period of time, we become undisciplined, whether it is with our exercise, whether is with our food. I think this is an inspiration not only to the youngsters but oldies like us.

Udani mentioned that CCI would extend all support to the young badminton player. “We (CCI) are a sports club, whatever we can do, we will do our very, very best and we wish you nothing but success.

Coach Nariman mentioned that Taarini has come a long way from being a podgy 8-0year-old. “When Taarini first came under my wings she was a bit overweight and quite naughty. But over the years she has trained hard, become fitter and a lot more disciplined and results are there to see. She can defiantly make it big on the world stage,” Nariman stated.
