Central Railway( C.R.) snatched a late winner as they rallied to pull off a tight 3-2 win against Dena Bank in a Super Division play-off match of the MDFA League 2017-18 and played at the Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri Sports Complex on Monday.
After a barren first session, Dena Bank took a 2-0 lead with Hardik Bhat scoring the first goal in the 54th minute and Denzil Mascarenhas adding the second in the 60th minute. But the railwaymen made a strong spirited fightback and scored twice through Zuber Desai in the 68th minute and Manoj Yadav in the 84th minute to restore parity before Shafique P. struck at the death, scoring the winner in the second minute of additional period.
Results – Super Div (play-off): Central Railway 3 (Zuber Desai 68th, Manoj Yadav 84th, Shafique P. 90+2nd) beat Dena Bank 2 (Hardik Bhat 54th, Denzil Mascarenhas 60th).
