BoonD’souza stars in C.Rly’s victory


Boon D’Souza’s four goals were the perfect boost for Central Railway as they went full steam ahead coasting to a 8-2 win against SAISA SC in a men’s first round clash of the Bandra Gymkhana 30th Open Rink Hockey Tournament, played at the Bandra Gym’s tennis courts.

Another star player for Central Railway was Harbhay Singh with two goals and the remaining two goals were scored by Roshan Keisham and Anup Walmiki. For SAISA, Smit Devkar scored both the goals.

In the third match of the evening, crowd favourites, Wenden SC after putting up a strong fight went down to Bombay Republicans by a 5-7 scoreline, via the tie-breaker after the scores were level at 4-4 at the end of full-time. For Republicans, Venkatesh scored 3 goals Santosh one in regular time and in the tie-breaker Sanket, Venkatesh and Santosh converted one each. For Wenden, Roy Lewis scored 2 goals and Ashish Gonsalves and Gershwin Pereira scored one each during full-time and in the tie-breaker on EnricoFernandes managed to score.
