Jitesh Mehta of Birbal Sports & Entertainment, the agency appointed by Mumbai Maharathi to look after their team’s affairs in the PWL, sought to clear the air over the controversy surrounding the pullout of Mumbai Maharathi from the PWL and their subsequent turnaround a day later, blaming the agency of acting without the owner’s consent.
“The decision to pull out Mumbai Maharathi from the PWL was taken by the owners in their capacity and we were only following their instructions, according to which the news was sent out to the media,” said Jitesh Mehta, disappointed at the turn of events.
“As a reputed agency operating in the spheres of sports and entertainment, we will never initiate any such action independently without being instructed to do so by the stakeholders, which in this case were the owners of Mumbai Maharathi,” he added.
