Bhushan Shinde was at his aggressive best as Shivji Park Warriors spoiled the Bandra Heroes unbeaten run with a 6-wicket win in their concluding tie in the Mitsui Shoji 5-Team Double leg-League here at Police Gymkhana ground, on Monday. However, with seven wins and one defeat, Bandra Heroes still emerged at the top of the table.
Bhushan’s 50-ball 116 runs with 16 fours and six sixes saw them cruise to victory with six wickets hand. He together with Siddhant Adhatrao put on 115 runs for the fourth wicket before Bhushan was caught at long on while trying to clear the field. Siddhant remained not out with 37 as they chased down Bandra Heroes score of 213.
Last year’s finalists Mumbai Police City Riders ended the miserable run of Thane Marathas by inflicting upon them a 6-wicket defeat. With today’s loss Thane outfit finished at the bottam seven defeats and were thus eliminated.
Batting first, Thane Marathas put on lacklustre show as they ended with 136 for five. In reply, the City Riders, thanks to opener Arman Shaikh’s fine unbeaten knock of 70 with nine fours and four sixes, were home with plenty to spare..
