17th Kalina Football League 2017
Prosenjit Barua scored in the final minute from a penalty which helped Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Chembur scrape past Our Lady of Fatima, Ambernath 3-2 in a semi-final match of the Inter-Parish tournament for veteran men’s in the 17th Kalina Football League 2017, organised by the Our Lady of Egypt Church Sports Committee, and played at the Our Lady of Egypt Church grounds, Kalina.
Earlier, Richard Noronha and Savio Correira had scored a goal each for the Chembur Parish, while the Ambernath side scored through Daison F. And Rony Pinto before Barua netted the decisive winning goal.
In the second semi-final, Our Lady of Lourdes, Orlem got the better of St. Anthony’s, Malwani 2-0. Ryan D’Souza and Cedric D. were on target with a goal each for the Orlem outfit.
Results – Inter-Parish Veteran Men’s (semi-finals): Our Lady of Lourdes, Orlem 2 (Ryan D’Souza 1, Conrad D.) beat St. Anthony’s, Malwani 0.
Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Chembur 3 (Richard Noronha 1, Savio Correia1, Prosenjit Barua 1) beat Our Lady of Fatima, Ambernath 2 (Daison F., Rony Pinto).
