Bank of Maharashtra record 6-run victory


Bank of Maharashtra played with plenty of determination and managed to clinch a tight 5-run win against hosts Oriental Insurance SC in a third round Elite Division Group-C match of the 13th Insurance Shield T20 Inter-Office Cricket Tournament, organised by Oriental Insurance Company under the aegis of MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) and at the National CC Ground, Cross Maidan on Friday.

Batting first, Bank of Maharashtra managed to make 125 for 7 wickets from their 20 overs. Ashitosh Mali 34 runs, Shree Om Sanap 30 runs and Omkar Patankar 20 runs lifted the total, while Bhushan Sanghvi 4 for 17 and Vansh Devendra 2 for 32 claimed the wickets.

Later, Bank of Maharashtra restricted Oriental Insurance SC to a low total of 121 all out in 19.2 overs. Atharva Ghosalkar was the lone batter to score 54 runs. Bank of Maharashtra bowlers Manas Raikar 2 for 15, Tejas Mankar 2 for 27 and Shree Om Sanap 2 for 28 were responsible to take the wickets.

In another match, Dharamsi Morarji Chemical Company (DMCC) SC snatched a narrow 7-run win against New India Assurance.

Brief scores: DMCC SC 136 all out, 20 overs (Roneet Thakur 46; Rahul Kankarwal 3/24, Rohit Yadav 2/15, Pritam Pawar 2/21) beat New India Assurance 129 for 7, 20 overs (Anish Shetty 34, Manish Yadav 33, Pritam Pawar 22*; Vikas Jadhav 2/14, Sajid Shaikh 2/34).
