Bandra Packers oust Carmelites SC


Bandra Packers produced a solid fighting display and managed to pull off a narrow 2-1 win against Carmelites SC in a keenly fought Men’s Premier Division quarter-final play-off match of the Baba Siddique and Zeeshan Siddique sponsored 16th  Bandra West Football League conducted by the Bandra West Football Association, and  played at the Supari Talao municipal grounds. The tournament is being organised under the auspices of  the Mumbai District Football Association.

In a fast-paced encounter, Bandra Packers did well to score their goals through Reylin D’Mello and Ranzie Kallicharan, while Carmelites pulled one back through Denzil Mascarenhas.

In another encounter of the same division, Celtic FC romped to a fluent 3-1 win against MW Stikers. The highlight of Celtic’s win was the twin strikes from ace scorer Karan Kapoor and one from Azeem Khan. Ashwin Mandre got the lone goal for the losing side.

Meanwhile, Mount Mary’s Boys stromed to an emphatic 8-0 win against Clifford Carmen Foundation in a Men’s Division-I quarter-final play-off match. Striker Yogesh Kadam scored a brace of goals, while Jatgdish Kurwar, Akshay Satpoji, Rayan D’Souza, Rahul Salian , Rohel Shaikh and Johonson Verghese, contributed one each to complete the massive victory for Mount Mary Boys.

Chimbai SC 3 (Floyd Dharmai 2, Francis Cabral) beat AK Chimbai SC 1 (Titus Uttankar).

Millwall FC 0 drew with Sporting Sensation 0.
