Bandra Heroes stop the winning run of Police Cityriders


Bandra Heroes gave a jolt to  last year’s finalist Mumbai Police Cityriders  by beating them by 6 wickets in the Super League tie in the Mitsui Shoji T20 League   -2019 at Police Gymkhana (Marine Lines) here today.

Batting first , the Police Cityriders did well to put up challenging 165 for seven with their opener  Prasad Pawar scoring aggressive 62 with seven fours and two sixes.  Skipper Shreekant Limbole made quickfire unbeaten 39 . In reply, Bandra boys chasing 166 to win, were home with six wickets in hand. The highlight of their win was the 102 runs partnership between opener Rudra Dhandey ( 65 n.o.) and Nikhil Patil (62).

 

In the other tie in the afternoon, youthful Shivaji Park Warriors thumped Thane Marathas by 72 runs. Kushal Davane put up fine all round show.

 

After scoring 35 in his side ‘s score of 191 for five,he captured three wickets for 32 runs  to restrict the Thane outfit to 119 for seven.
