Bandra Heroes back on winning ways


Bandra Heroes after losing to Mumbai Police Cityriders in the opener, have fought back splendidly by recording their fourth win on the trot by beating defending champions Ghatkopar Jets by six wickets in the Mitsui Shoji t-20 League at Oval Maidan here today.

Put into bat first, Ghatkopar Jets made 151 for eight off the allotted 20 overs. Chasing not too formidable total, Bandra outfit lost top four batsmen before reaching yhe three figure mark. However, the fifth wicket pair of Aman Khan and Shamsi Mulani, batted aggressively to add 57 runs to steer their side to victory

.In the other tie, Shivaji Park Warriors , thanks to consistent batting by opener Shashant Singh, defeated Thane Marathas by eight runs in a thriller. Chasing 168 for victory, Thane Marathas tried their best, but as the wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, they fell short by eight runs.  Shashank, who had made a century and breath-taking 79 earlier, hit unbeaten 69 today with two sixes and nine fours, which helped his side to reaching fighting total.

Ghatkopar Jets  151/8 (Prathmesh Pawar 79, Rehamani Sufiyan 2/21) lost to Bandra Heroes 155/4 off 16.4 overs (Arman Kahn 53 (3×4,2×6), Rehmani Sufiyan 24, Aman Khan n.o. 25, Shami Mulanin.o. 33) by 6 wkts.
