Mumbai Suburban District’s Arnav Karnavar and Pune’s Pritha Varitikar claimed their Sub Junior boys and girls singles titles in contrasting fashion on the concluding day of the YMCA-5th Maharashtra State ranking Table Tennis tournament, held at Goregaon Sports Club, here today.

While the Pune girl just outclassed her Thane rival Kheya Shah 11-8, 11-6, 6-11, 11-3, 11-6, but bespectacled Arnav, who trailed 1-2, fought all the way before prevailing over his teammate Aadil Anand 10-12, 11-7,5-11, 11-8, 11-8, 5-11, 11-7. Earlier in the semi finals Arnav had knocked out top seed Havish Asrani.
In the Cadet Girls Singles Sana D’souza of Mumbai Suburban District( MSD) once again proved her supremacy while scoring over Hardee Patel also of MSD to win the title.
