Arjun shoots six in Western Rly win

Helped by Arjun Kawle’s six goals, strong Western Railways outfit downed Police Swimming Pool 15-7  to  open their campaign in style  for the top honours in the GMAAA five-team water-polo League, hosted by P.M.Bath at their pool at Chowpatty here last night.  Others among goal-scorers were Shreyas Vaidya (3), Akshay Kunde and  Ashwini Kunde (2 each).

After scoring four goals in the opening quarter while conceding just one, Western Railway boys took things lightly as PSP fought back to reduce the margin. But then Arjun Kawle and Shreyas Vaidya  alongwith Akshay Kunde and Ashwini Kunde hit back with vengeance in the third and fourth quarters to take their side past the policemen with a flurry of goals to emerge triumphant 15-7 in the end.

The next tie between hosts PM Bath and PSP to be played tonight, will see who makes the cut for the title round. Having lost to hosts and Police Swimming Pool, Rest of Mumbai outfit, the weakest disjointed team are  virtually out of the competition.
