Anvi and Saanvi Deshwal win 10 medals for Bombay Scottish School



This year MSSA Aquatics had a successful meet with large number of participants. The stands of Andheri Sports complex were entirely filled with enthusiastic swimmers and their parents from all schools across Mumbai. This prestigious meet got the due attention this year post covid and it was heartening to see the sporting spirit of Mumbai Back on the pool deck.

Anvi Deshwal and Saanvi Deshwal showed their swimming prowess shattering two records and equalling one meet record in under 12 girls.

Anvi Deshwal created new meet record in 100m Back event with timing of 1min 18 seconds (old record at min 1:20.50 sec), and her twin, Saanvi also bettering the meet record. Anvi further went on with her form stroke to equate meet record in 100m freestyle of Vedika Amin set in 2016. She won 2 Gold and 2 bronze medals at the meet.

Saanvi proved again to be the best all round swimmer in under 12 age group with NEW meet record in 200m Individual Medley, bettering the earlier record by 4 seconds.  Saanvi Deshwal also declared as Individual Champion in under-12 girls with 2 Gold medals and 3 Silver medals. 

Anvi Deshwal and Saanvi Deshwal are studying in 6th Standard at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim. The TWIN sisters ended up with a huge medal tally of 5 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals and 2 bronze medals for their school.

Ananya Nayak, VIBGYOR School also created new meet record in 100m freestyle under 14 girls.

Other Individual Champions in girls category include – Zara Baksi, Under 16; Ananya Nayak, Under 14 and Saanvi Deshwal, Under 12.

The meet also witnessed presence of Mr Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, their son, Riaan Deshmukh, swimming for the school at the MSSA meet.
