Palava The City Of Opportunity located near Dombivali has the best liveability factor is also involved in adding the best sporting factor with international infrastructure to build the new olympians. Last wek, Palava was bursting with enthusiasm for its annual sports festival ‘Palaso’ from 16 November 2019 to 24th Nov. 2019. Palaso is one the kind sports event which happens here at a grand level. This 5-day long event had covered 19 sports, 190 categories, and 2000+ participants. The winners and runners up among all the categories were felicitated by eminent guests at Lodha World School, Lakeshore Greens, Palava II .
With the teamwork, the sports council of Palava, PCMA, and volunteers executed the event with lots of extra entertainment along with award ceremonies. The inaugural dance prayers were done by Blitz Dance Academy kids followed by a skit “The Rising Stars” where kids demonstrated their art of acting showing the hard work of the rising star kids. The Rising star kids also performed a song on the theme of sports and dedicated the song to the Palaso event. It was a great pleasure to see how these little ones getting the hook of sports in every way.
The event had many dignitaries from various fields like education, media, and sports present. Mr. Vinayak Paturkar, the Editor of a prestigious regional newspaper “Lokmat” was present to felicitate the sports talents of Palava. Honorable Principal of the prestigious educational Institution “The Shri Ram Universal School, Palava”, Mrs. Radhika Srinivasan was also present to encourage the upcoming sports talents. Along with honorable Principal of Lodha World School Palava Smt Aditi Banerji, Mr. Omkar Troghlakar, a well-known National Table Tennis sportsperson, presented the awards to the little shining stars of Palaso.
The day was more special to Palava residents as Palava Sports Council had launched its very first edition of “Palava Sports”. The yearly newsletter , which covers the whole year’s sports events that happened at Palava and the sportspersons who represent themselves at nationals and international levels. It also explains why and how to start sports by guidance shared by expert coaches and Physio & Psychologists.
Highlights of the event were PALAVA RISING STARS where the best sporting kids who were nurtured for full 1year and have won accolades during the past 1 year, were awarded. They were provided with complete Sporting kits with Rising starts t shirts and tracksuits. Each kid received a cash voucher worth Rs 5000 each and few kids received special honours . Ayushi Ganatra who has represented India In Budapest & Florida for Biathlete and Laser-Run was sponsored the amount of Rs 1,50,000 and 2 kids who were also selected for Florida to represent India were given a Cash amount of 30,000 each. These kids have brought glory and will be aiming higher in the coming year. Sports Council Palava will ensure to support, train and give them a platform to bring more glory.
The medal count continued for few in many numbers like few kids won at least 8 golds and 3 silver and few were in very close to getting more than 2 golds from Palaso. Kids Cricket U16 saw the good number and winner team Palava Champions made sailing victory at the end. Kabaddi and Kho – Kho has been promoted and saw participation with the same enthusiasm. Making of athletics has seen some immense rise and with numbers crossing over 250 for a marathon and Track & Field was a great success to watch. Table Tennis was played with assertive passionate and with 2 days of dedicated matches saw some new winners and Palava’s Finest in form Of Pratiksh Singh, and Jeetu Redkar in the form of Men’s Singles Winner and Dr. Sadiya Vanjara as women’s winner. Yoga, Gymming, Khel Plava Khle were certain other competitive activities which kept various age group participates and earn medals for the same.
With a great dedicated team lead by Shri Tushar Vaidya GM Hospitality, and Sports Council members Shri Ashok Suratkar , Rupali Reply & Shri Irfan Haji, and volunteers who helped to run the entire show smooth and entertaining for Palava residents and gave them a platform to create a competitive level to go and perform at National levels. All Pro-Category winners were awarded Rs. 500 Voucher Thanks to Total Sports, Blue Clove, Donic, Neon Hospitals, Hot Fut, Prakash Padukone academy, Sports Reconnect, Shubham Mishra, Lokmat and others who were supporting partners.
