Second seed Annanya Morey toppled top seed Aarya Ogale to clinch the girls’ under-19 crown in the Rs one lakh prize-money NSCI-ISP Junior and Doubles Squash Championship, organized by the Indian Squash Professional (ISP) and played at the NSCI Club courts.
Playing with lots of confidence Annanya did well to hit some crucial winners, which helped her to overcome Aarya in four games in the best-of-five-game final. Annanya prevailed at 11-8, 11-8, 8-11, 11-8.
Meanwhile, in the boys’ under-21 final, contested between the joint 3-4th seeds,Puneet Pareek and Tushar Shahani, the former recovered well after losing the first game to record a deserving 10-12, 12-10, 11-4, 11-8 victory.
Abhishek Agarwal and partner Shashi Pandey bagged the Doubles Open title. In the final, they prevailed over Samir Mistry and Sanjay Pawar winning in two games at 11-10, 11-7.
The Doubles Handicap title was clinched by Ajaz Shaikh and Rameez Shaikh who managed to pull through against the pairing of Ankita Sharma and Waqar Pathan to register a 11-8, 11-7 win in the final.
