Aman Pawar downs Gaurav in a thriller; Dhruv impresses


 

Aman Pawar after an indifferent start, fought back to beat Gaurav Kumar   30-29  to storm into boys under-19   pre-quarterfinals in the Mumbai District badminton selection tournament, hosted by Goregaon Sports Club at their courts here today.

Aman rallied midway as from 3-8 he jumped to 19-14 lead only to see Gaurav fighting back tellingly  and from 25-27, he was on match point. But Aman was unrelenting and made it 29-all before he clinched the tie 30-29.

 

In other closely contested matches,  Kevin  Shah overpowered Satyashil , who ulkarni 30-29, so too, Aaayush Gupta pipped Gaurav Pal at the post (30-29) with yet another  thrilling tie. Ansha Mehta got the better of Arnav Bhosal 30-28 to move into last 16.

In the boys under-17, Dhruv Oza used power and deceptive strokes to outwit  Aman Verma in the boys under-17singles..

 

Samriddhi Kshatriya , the girls under-17 top seed had to produce her best before she quelled the challenge of Nidhi Chauhan 30-24 to sail into quarterfinals.
