Thanks to fine all round performance by Gaurav Kumar, Rising Stars Sports Foundation recorded a thumping 99 runs win over MCC ‘A’ in their opening tie in the MCC U-16 Cricket League 2019, played at Matunga ground, here today. Gaurav top-scored with 70 in his side’s total of 246 for seven, and then captured two wicket for 22 runs to be adjudged the man of the match.

In the other tie, played at Oval Maidan, Dilip Vengsarkar CA suffered 5-run defeat at the hands of Titans CA in a low scoring tie. For Vengsarkar CA, it was their first defeat, after having earlier opened their campaign with a win.
Put into bat, Titans CA were shot out for 139 in 39.5 overs. But then their bowlers did a splendid job by restricting Dilip Vengsarkar CA to 134 for eight.
