All-rounder Nutan, centurion Raj shine in Parsee Gym’s huge win


Nutan Goel’s impressive all-round showing scoring 54 runs and then picking up 7 wickets for 39 runs and the century knock from Raj Deshmukh 103-balls 101 runs (7x4s, 1x6s) was the highlights of Parsee Gymkhana’s massive 162 runs victory against Lord Northbrook CC in a Group-G match of the MCA Under-19 Cricket Tournament 2021-22, organized by Mangrol Sports Club in association with Pulse Sports Events Entertainment and played at the Prasee Gymkhana ground.

Electing to bat, Parsee Gymkhana scored 289 runs for 6 wickets from their 40 overs. Besides Nutan and Raj’s big contributions Bhushan Sawant chipped in with unbeaten 60 runs to boost the total. In reply, Lord Northbrook batsmen struggled against Nutan’s disciplined bowling and were bowled out for 127 runs in 30.5 overs.

In a Group-H match, sponsors’ and organizers team Mangrol SC snatched a narrow 9-run win against Parkophene Cricketers at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground. Batting first Mangrol SC were dismissed for 181 runs in 38.5 overs and they defended the target restricting Parkophene Cricketers to 171 for 9 wickets in 39 overs.

Aditya Rawat’s also excelled with ball and bat picking 3 wickets for 37 runs and later recorded a century, scoring an unbeaten 96-ball 101 runs (8x4s, 6x6s) to guide Crescent Cricket Club to a comfortable 7-wicket win over Young Mohammedan CC in a Group-A match.

Mangrol SC: 181 all out, 38.5 overs (Tejas Chavan 81, Prashad Bodke 35; Smith Dasadia 4/45, Hetanshu Kamdar 3/26) beat Parkophene Cricketers: 171 for 9 wickets, 39 overs (Shreyas Hirlekar 48, Smit Dasadia 44, Sumit Singh 34; Garv Jain 4/23). Result: Mangrol SC won by 9 runs.

Regal SC: 188 for 9 wickets, 40 overs (Shantanu Tandel 43, Pratham Pawar 39; Sidhant Rai 2/12) beat Fort Vijay CC: 144 all out, 28 overs (Harsh Salunke 70; Pyarelal Chauhan 5/24, Shantanu Tandel 4/42). Result: Regal SC won by 44 runs.

Superstar SC: 110 all out, 32.3 overs (Nilesh Vishwakarma 38, Kunal Bot 30; Atharva Dakway 6/12) lost to John Bright CC: 111 for 3 wickets, 19.2 overs (Jay Jain 44*; Pratham Wagh 2/22). Result: John Bright CC won by 7 wickets.

New Hind SC: 245 for 8 wickets, 40 overs (Tanay Khandeshi 73, Shubham Shinde 45, Vaseem Khan 44, Ashotosh Balla 34; Nandan Kamath 4/63) beat Shivaji Park Gymkhana: 203 for 9 wickets, 40 overs (Swaraj Parulkar 53, Nilay Pawar 39; Suraj Mehta 3/47). Result:  New Hind SC won by 42 runs.
