Alden Noronha, of Andheri’s Savio Sports Club , produced yet another record-breaking performance when he won the boys under-18 200m event in 22.3 secs, shattering the old record of 22.7 secs to clinch gold on the third day of th YMCA’s 40th Maharashtra State Level Athletic meet, held at Sports Authority of India Sports Complex, at Kandivali here today. It was Alden’s second record-breaking feat, having earlier set new mark in the 110m hurdles by clocking 14.48 secs.

Sharing day’s honours with Alden was Shivam Yadav, of SAI (Kandivali), winning the boys under-18 discus throw event with a throw of 41.05 mts. bettering his own record of 39.24set in 2014 . Yet another outstanding performer was Vedant Mandre, of Ryan International SC, Kandivali, who bagged gold in boys under-18 high jump event as he sailed over the bar at 1.95 mts. Among girls, Nicole Franco of Prabodhan, Goregaon , set new mark in the girls under-14 long jump event, winning gold with a leap of 5.18 mts.
