Mumbai Customs did well to record a narrow 1-0 win against Reserve Bank of India in an Elite (Corporate) Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2022-2023 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Friday.
In an evenly contested encounter, Mumbai Customs scored the decisive winning goal midway through the first half through Sajad Alam to snatch a tight victory and pocket the full three points.
Later, Central Railway HQ played truant as they failed to report for their Elite Division against Union Bank of India.
In the First Division encounter, Russell Correira was in terrific scoring form and scored all the four goals in leading Ex-Servicemen SC to a fluent 4-1 win against Minres SC. Kush Gohil scored the lone goal for the losing side.
Future Stars Academy also had a successful day as they got the better of Mumbai United FC by a 3-1 margin. Strikers Alex Jena, Rudolf D’Souza and Aniket Nikamwere on target with a goal each for Future Stars while Sheldon Rego scored Mumbai United FC’s only goal.
