Sprinter Club’s Akshay Khot virtually flew from the word go as clinched gold in the 100m men’s sprint of the Mumbai City District Amateur Athletic meet, held at the University Stadium , Marines Lines, here today. On the opening day he had won the 200m run in style, leaving the rest of the field way behind in a record time of 21.3 secs.

Among others , who ended with a double in sprint were Mariya Karachiwalla, of Bombay Parsi Panchayat, who added 200m gold to the 100m she won on the opening day. So also Arun Kumar Pandey, of Stunners , who was graceful while winning the won the 200m run
Former international athlete and Arjuna Awardee Adille Sumariwala, now president of Athletic Federation of India, was the guest of honour and gave away the medals/certificates.
