Mumbai Suburb’s Akshan Shetty, one of the state’s an exciting junior doubles player, did well to emerge runners-up in the mixed doubles event at the Yonex-Sunrise junior National Badminton Championships held at Lucknow last weekend.
Akshan-Rashi
The pair of Akshan and Nagpur’s Rashi Lambe combined well to knocked out Kerala’s Edwin joy and Nafeesah Sara Siraj , seeded second, in straight games before going down to third seeded pair of Sai Pratheek Prasad and K. Ashwini 21-13, 21-15 in the final.. Incidentally, both Akshan and Rashi represented India in the BWF Junior World badminton championships held in Canada earlier this year.
