Air India Colony Boys were in the best of form and charged to a facile 5-1 win against FC Kolovery ‘A’ in a first round match of the 19th Kalina Football League organised by the Our Lady of Egypt Church Sports Committee, and played at the St. Mary’s HS ground, Kalina.

Earlier, Rev. Fr. Rui Comelo, Parish Priest, Our Lady of Egypt Church, inaugurated the tournament and told the players to enjoy the competitions, but to also display good sporting spirit.
Leading Air India’s charge to victory was striker Jaydeep Panarkar who scored a brace of goals, while teammates Vinod Pandey and Sheldon Fernandes struck one each, while Kolovery’s Noom Fernandes scored an own goal to complete the winning margin. FC Kolovery scored their lone goal through Innocent Fernandes.
In a well-contested encounter, Kalina United FC snatched a tense and thrilling 3-2 victory against Kalina Village Boys SC to make a positive winning start. Alistair D’Souza, Naresh Baji and Sachin Rawat, all contributed with a goal each to secure Kalina United’s win. Sheldon Sharma and Faizan Shaikh scored the goals for the Village Boys.
