AI Colony, IA Colony score contrasting wins


 

Air India Colony Boys and Indian Airlines Colony SC scored contrasting wins in pre-quarter-final matches of the Kalina Open football tournament, organized by the Kaka Baptista Sports Foundation and played at the Joseph (Kaka) Baptista Ground, Kalina on Saturday. The tournament is being supported by local corporator Brian Miranda.

 

The Air India outfit tamed Roaring Lions coasting to a 11-0 win. Striker Akshay Pashilkar fired in three goals, Jay Panarkar and Sachin Medar both netted a brace of goals each while Astle Pereira, Vinod Pandey, Deepak Apte and Rajendra Pashilkar struck one each to complete the big win.

 

Later, Indian Airlines Colony got the better of St. Anthony’s ‘A’ by a close 2-1 margin. Kalpesh Rane and Alok Chohan scored a goal each for Indian Airlines while St. Anthony’s pulled one back through Prathmesh Kamble.

 

Results – (pre-quarter-finals): Air India Colony Boys 11 (Akshay Pashilkar 3, Jay Panarkar 2, Sachin Medar 2, Astle Pereira, Vinod Pandey, Deepak Apte, Rajendra Pashilkar) beat Roaring Lions 0.

 

Kalina Village Boys 5 (Sheldon Sharma 2, Sam Coutinho 2, Noel Gomes) beat Manipur FC 1 (Yaomeikan Shangh).

 

Indian Airlines Colony 2 (Kalpesh Rane, Alok Chohan) beat St. Anthony’s ‘A’ 1 (Prathmesh Kamble).

 

Yogi Ashram 3 (Prathmesh Shukla 2, Joel Paul) beat FC Kolivery ‘A’ 2 (Sheldon D’Souza, Gleason Rodrigues).
