Abir Seth, from Goregaon Sports Club earned an unique distinction while setting a new mark in the 25 metres free style event boys under-5 category in the GAF-GMAAA Lower Age Group Swim meet, held at Dharavi Sports Complex swimming pool, here today. Abir,who clocked 00:22.22 secs thus rewrote the 16- years- old record held by MGMO’s Ritesh Mavle (00:22.55 secs).And in the end, Abir apart from the record-breaking effort, ended with the three golds and a bronze medal to his credit.

Duvesh Devrukhkar from Vile Parle’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Swimming pool, topped the boys 6 years age group with four golds, aggregating 28 points, while. Dron Palande from Matunga Gymkhana and Kabir Khubchandani from Khar gymkhana shared the honours in the boys 7-years age section. Both aggregated 20 points each with one gold, 2 silver and three bronze to their credits.
While in the girls sections Amiara Kumar (Renaissance) in the 5-year-section and Anusha Gaonkar in the 6 years, excelled. Amira claimed three golds and a silver, Anusha made clean-sweep of four events in the 7-year-old section.
