Top seed Abhishek Agarwal did not have to exert too much to progress to semi-final round of the Men’s Top-8 event of the Rs 75,000 prize money JVPG-ISP Squash Championship, which is the 116th tournament to be organised by the Indian Squash Professionals (ISP). Agarwal called the shots and dominated the rallies against Akhilesh Yadav and coasted to a fluent 11-4, 11-2, 11-8 victory in a quarter-final match at the JVPG squash courts.
Meanwhile in a keenly contested encounter, 4th seed Karan Mirchandani and 5th seed Sanjay C. Pawar were engaged in grim and engrossing battle before the former managed to script a 11-9, 11-9, 4-11, 6-11win and advance to the penultimate round.
In another closely fought quarter-final match, 6th seed Shashi Pandey did well to overcome Ashish Keskar in four games winning at 11-7, 11-2, 5-11, 11-6.
