After winning his first title of the season in Men’s Veterans 40+ two months ago, Abhay Mehta once again proved his supremacy at the Malabar Hill Club 5-Star Mumbai City District TT Championship 2018, conducted under the auspices of the MCDTTA today evening. Abhay who easily overcame the challenge from Harish Shirsat and Rajnish Khatavkar in Quarter finals and semi finals respectively, scored an easy 3-0 win in the finals of Men’s 40+ Veterans Singles.
In the Cadet Boys singles event, Siddharth Shah and Diyaan Shah will clash in the final . Earlier in the semi finals, top-seeded Siddharth looked in complete control and strolled past undseeded Vedant Agarwal posting a straight games 11-4, 11-8, 11-9 victory. On the side table, third seed Diyaan Shah put a strong fight to put it across second seed Dwij Shah, pulling off a deserving 11-6, 11-1, 11-9 victory.
Meanwhile, the top seeds Keisha Jhaveri and Amira Jhaveri will contest the finals in the Cadet Girls’ event. The number one seed Keisha easily overcame unseeded Anshita Tamhankar coasting to 11-8, 11-3, 11-5 win while Amira recovered after losing the first game to sideline unseeded Arya Parulekar winning in four games at 9-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-1.
In Midget Boys singles semi-final competition, top seed Aarav Sanghvi smoothly got past Raghav Jatia winning in three games at 11-6, 11-6, 11-8, while second seed Aryan Choksi worked hard to defeat Parth Magar 12-10, 11-6, 11-6.
