Lefthander Aakash Damle, the top seed, quelled the spirited challenge of second seed Shashnak Bishit in the engrossing men’s singles final in the 4th Inter- Corporate Table Tennis Tournament, held at Khar Gymkhana here today. Both Damle and Bisht fought tooth and nail before Damle triumphed at 12-10, 11-8, 11-13, 16-14.

The corresponding women’s singles final was won by National veteran’s champion, Mangala Saraf, who hardly gave any chance to Sukhada Kulkarni, a former state player before she was through with a 11-9, 11-8, 11-9 win. While Aakash dominated the show as he won both his singles and paired with Vishal Yadav to bag the all-important doubles to help Tata Consultancy dethrone the defending champions HGFC Life 3-1 in the team championship final.
