Karnataka Amateurs SC made a good winning start as they got the better of Mangalore Blues SC by a narrow 1-0 margin in the opening league match of the 9th Late Adv. A.R. Kudroli Memorial Foootball Tournament, organised by KSA (Karnatak Sporting Association) and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan, Churchgate. Opportunistic striker Prithviraj Shetty netted the lone goal of the match.
In another match, Jai Bharat SC overcame Jawahar Young Boys 3-0 via the tie-breaker after full-time finished in a goalless draw. Jai Bharat successfully converted all their first three attempts through Manish Shetty, Rashid Shaikh and Ravi Rathod, while Jawahar Young Boys failed to convert a single of their attempts.
