Striker Arihi Uchena’s recorded a fine hat-trick to steer Karnatak Sporting Association to a 4-1 win against G.M. Sports in an Elite Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League – 2014-15, played at the Cooperage ground Saturday evening.
The Karnatak side who enjoyed a slight edge over the proceedings forged ahead when Patrick against the run of play found the target in the 11th minute. G.M. Sports fought on gamely and managed to restore parity through Steve Kouassi in the 44th minute before Karnatak’s Nigerian recruit side Uchena struck two quick goals, in the 45th minute and in the 2nd minute of additional time of the first half to give Karnatak a 3-1 cushion.
Uchena once again was on target scoring his third goal to complete his hat-trick and seal the team’s 4-1 margin of victory.
There will be no MDFA matches at Cooperage and St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Sunday, September 27, 2015 on account of ‘Anant Chaturdashi’. The next Elite Division match will be played between Mumbai FC and Kenkre Fc on Monday, September 28.
