Rhema Sports made a bright winning start as they beat back a spirited challenge from a youthful Abhi Foundation before romping to a 4-2 victory in keenly fought Pool-A match of the Mumbai ‘Super League 2015’, organised by the MHAL (Mumbai Hockey Association Limited), and played at the MHAL-Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate, on Tuesday evening.

Seasoned Osaf ur Rehman (2nd minute) and Sukhman Singh (35th) scored the opening two goals for Rhema in the first half, before Manpreet Singh came up with two clinical goals in the second period to help his team win and collect the full three points. The young Abhi Foundation outfit showed plenty of promise and fighting spirit as did well to match their senior rivals. After conceding an early goal they replied with two quick goals through Govind Singh and Vineet Shetty to end the first half on level terms at 2-all.
Manpreet Singh for his brilliant efforts was later adjudged as the ‘Man-of-the-match’ and was presented with a cash award of Rs 1,000.
