The twin strikes from Dan Dias powered Kalina Village Boys (KVB) ‘A’ team to a resounding 6-0 win against Kalina Welfare Association (KWA) ‘A’ in a second round league encounter of the 15thKalina Football League, organised by the Our Lady of Egypt Church Sports Committee, and played at the St. Mary’s High School ground. Dias was well-supported by teammates Dale D’Cunha, Rayyan Shaikh, Arun Patil and Sheldon Sharma, all chipping with a goal each to complete the margin of victory.
However, KVB ‘B’ outfit suffered a 0-1 defeat against Kalina United. Striker Madhukar Moses netted the lone winning goal for United.
In another match, Kalina Rangers were lucky to snatch a narrow 1-0 win over Egyptian Boys. In a well-contested a hard-fought match, an own goal by Shanol Jacinto handed Kalina Rangers the win.
