Shastri Nagar had things very much their own way as they quelled the firepower of Young Guns as they stormed to a facile 4-0 win in a Second Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League – 2014-15, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Saturday evening.
Dictating terms from the start, Shastri Nagar scored at regular intervals through Darryl Verghese, Steve Verghese, John Pereira, Aditya Raichura, all netting a goal each to complete the victory.
In another match of the same division, Indian Cultural League (ICL) ‘B’ pulled off a 3-1 win over Silver Innings. The goals for ICL came through Akash Indulkar, Bijoy Vasghese and an own goal scored by Gaurag Chaudhary. For the losing outfit A. Khan was on target.
