Brilliant allround show by Yashasvi


Defending champions Rizvi Springfield, thanks to their allrounder Yashasvi Jaiswal’s brilliant form, outplayed Parle Tilak Vidyalaya by 154 runs to storm into the semifinals of the of the B.Kichadia-Khar Gymkhana Suburban Inter-School Cricket tournament, played at Azad Maidan on weekend. Batting first, Yashasvi hit up an unbeaten 155 as Rizvi Springfield rattled up 237 for three in the allotted 40 over. In reply, they bowled out the Parle Tilak boys for 99 with Yashasvi ( 3 for 17) and Abhishek Yadav (3 fro 12) sharing the spoils.

The holders next take on Dhirubhai Ambani, who squeezed past Vibgyor (Goregaon) by a solitary run. While the other semifinal will be contested by IES New English (Bandra), who defeated last year’s finalist Swami Vivekanand (Borivali) by narrow four runs and Dr. Radhakrishanan, who too, piped Gokuldham by eight runs.
