Former Champs “Red” down “Purple” by 6 runs to enter final


Former champions MCC (Red) in a tight finished prevailed over MCC (Purple)  by six runs  to storm into the MCC Pr0-40 Elite League final, played at Oval Maidan here yesterday. They take on hot favourites MCC (Green) for the coveted title. “Green”, earlier had in a nail-biting pipped “Blue” by a solitary run in the other semifinals.,

Put into bat, “Red” batters, led by Anand Tiwari (57), went all out to end up 218 for nine in their allotted quota of 40 overs. Apart  from the bat of Anand, other notable contributions came from  Dev Jamula (50) and  Divyansh Saxena (46). However,  “Purple” batters too went for the bowling, treating pace  and spin alike , but fell short by six runs. Anand for his 57 and two wickets, was adjudged the ‘Man-of-the-match’.
