Dashing number three batsman Ojas Mallapurkar cracked a brilliant century 103 runs which was the highlight of Khandala CC massive 170-run win against Mulund Challengers in a first round match of the Chandrakant Pandit CC Academy organised boys’ under-14 cricket tournament played at Cross Maidan on Wednesday.
Ojas’ superb effort came from 117-balls and contained 12 shots to the boundary lines.
His teammates, opening batter Yuvaan Surve and middle-order bat Manas Shivalkar both chipped in with 25 runs each to swell the Khandala innings to 263 for 9 wickets in 45 overs. Mulund Challengers medium pacer Pranav Shetty took two wickets for 34 runs.
In reply, Mulund Challengers batsmen were unable to put up much of a fight and lost wickets in quick succession and were bowled out for just 93 runs in 31.4 overs. Siddhesh Pilankar was their leading scorer with 23 runs. Khandala’s Auth Sonawane claimed three wickets for 16 runs, which ensured their 170 runs victory.
