Unseeded Prasad Ingale caused a major upset, defeating third seed Raghav Jaisinghani in two sets, 6-2, 7-5, to progress to the Men’s singles quarter-finals of the Bandra Gymkhana organized Rs 2.5 lakh J.S. Pereira Memorial All India AITA Tennis Tournament, played at the Bandra Gymkhana tennis courts on Wednesday.
The number one seed Vishnu Vardhan dropped just two points in defeating Rashein Samuel 6-0, 6-2, while second seed Ishaque Eqbal lost just one game in cruising past Vishwajeet Sanas 6-1, 6-0 in pre-quarter-final matches.
In last eight matches, Vardhan will clash with Madhwin Kamat who defeated Prajwal Tewari 6-3, 6-4 and Eqbal will take on Yash Chaurasia who easily defeated Omar Sumar 6-2, 6-1.
