All-rounder Vansh Devendra stars in Oriental Insurance win


Oriental Insurance Company Sports & Recreational Club powered by the brilliant all-round display of Vansh Devendra who picked two wickets for 49 runs and later scored a match-winning unbeaten 93 runs outplayed Crayon Software India CC by recording a eight-wicket victory in an ‘E’ Division first round match of the MCA Corporate Cricket Tournament, played at the National CC ground, Cross Maidan on Sunday.

Batting first, Crayon Software India CC could only post a modest total of 167 runs for seven wickets from their 20 overs. Pramindra Singh top-scored with a patient 55 runs. Devendra’s teammates Karan Mehta 26 runs, Jash Pala 25 runs and Amit Kaushik 24 runs made useful contributions to swell the total. Santosh Suke 3 for 41 and Vansh Devendra 2 for 49 claimed the wickets.

Later, Oriental Insurance Company easily chased down the target reaching 171 for the loss of just two wickets in 19.5 overs. Devendra 49-balls innings contained six hits to the boundary ropes and seven well-timed sixes. Atharva Ghosalkar added 43 runs to see the team home.
