BMC record fluent 7-wicket win


Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Sports Club guided by the brilliant efforts of Jitesh Purbiya who claimed four wickets for 18 and middle order batter Ravi Shinde who smashed a half-century knock of 54 runs defeated Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) Sports Club by seven wickets in first round Plate Division match of the 13th Insurance Shield T20 Inter-Office Cricket Tournament, organised by Oriental Insurance Company under the aegis of MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) and played at Karnatak SA ground on Friday.

Batting first, MTNL posted a total of 130 for 6 in 20 overs. Vishal Desai 43 runs, Sanket Paralkar 35 runs and Santosh Yadav unbeaten 28 runs lifted the MTNL innings. BMC bowler Jitesh Purabiya did well to restrict the rival batters.

Later, BMC started shakily before Shinde batted confidently to put their innings back on track. Sandesh Paralkar 27 runs and Ajinkya Kamble unbeaten 24 ensured BMC reached the winning target. Santosh Yadav took 3 for 25.

Plate Div: Reserve Bank of India 85 for 7, 20 overs (Pratik Dawane 30*; Shameet Shetty 2/20) lost Group Satellite CC 87 for 3, 10.1 overs (Sarvesh Patil 50*, Naresh Yadav 18*).

Bhavishya Niddhi SC 118 for 6, 20 overs (Nipul Bhansali 48, Anish Bamteke 28, Dushyant Kadam 22; Kuldeep Sahu 2/14, Sagar Kawankar 2/22) lost BARC Staff Club 122 for 3, 12.2 overs (Ravindra Koli 48, Prashant Manpure 27, Kalpesh Keni 22, Sainath 2/15).

MTNL Sports Club 130 for 6, 20 overs (Vishal Desai 43, Sanket Paralkar 35, Santosh Yadav 28*; Jitesh Purabiya 4/18) lost BMC Sports Club 131 for 4, 17. 2overs (Ravi Shinde 54, Sandesh Paralkar 27, Ajinkya Kamble 24*; Santish Yadav 3/25).
