Good response for Uttar Mumbai- Poinsur Gymkhana TT


If any club or Gymkhana conducts a Table Tennis tournament in Kandivali or Borivali, it receives a very good response. This was noticed at the Table Tennis tournament conducted by Poinsur Gymkhana as part of their Sports Festival along with other sports events like Gymnastics, Mallakhamb, Judo- Karate, Athletics, Football, Basketball, Cricket, Ladies Cricket, Skating, Boxing, Dance & Kabbadi.

Mr. Karunakar Shetty the man behind this show, was very busy today morning making arrangements under the guidance from Hon.M.P. Mr. Gopal Shetty, for the smooth conduct this sports festival; which concludes tomorrow. He had made special arrangements in the two halls on the first floor for the conduct of this TT tournament and both the halls were packed to full capacity with Girls and Boys below 11 and 13 years along with their coach and parents.

It was the day of busy schedule for this age group. In the morning  session favourite Sara Ramaiya had easy time, winning her first two rounds in Girls U-13 section. Similarly, Shrenika Prabhu from Gundecha School won her first round 3-1 to make a good beginning. Her father renowned TT player Nilesh Prabhu was more than happy to witness her win.

Little Swarnika Patekar from PTKS, Vile Parle, also made a good start winning her closely contested first round match in Girls U-11 section to make her father Sumedh Patekar happy, with her progress. In another closely contested match in Girls U-13, Harinee Shah beat Pranshi Upadhyay 3-2 in her first round match. Harinee is coached by Ojas Ghadi. .
