MCA Colts registered thumping 9-wicket victory against Islam Gymkhana in a second round Group-B league match of the UPL-76th Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2023, at the Islam Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Saturday.
National CC bowler Prabhakar Nishad claimed six wickets for 57 runs to restrict Bombay Gymkhana to 183 all out in 31.2 overs
Electing to bat first, Islam Gymkhana batsmen struggled and were bowled out cheaply 70 run in 19.2 overs. Abhinav Singh scored 35 runs and Aditya Dhumal (4 for 11) and Kruthik Hangawadi (4 for 27) rocked the Islam Gymkhana innings. The MCA Colts batters easily chased down the target reaching 71 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 10.4 overs.
Victory CC also scored a quick win defeating UPL Sponsors XI by a comfortable 8-wickets in a Group-C league match. Choosing to bat first, UPL Sponsors XI were bowled out for 75 runs in 29.3 overs. Victory CC bowlers Vijay Gohil (5 for 24) and Yash Chavan (4 for 5) picked up the wickets. In reply, Victory Cricket Club easily scored 76 for 2 wicket in 15.4 overs with Ramanpreet Ghoman making 32 runs.
Meanwhile, National CC bowler Prabhakar Nishad claimed six wickets for 57 runs to restrict Bombay Gymkhana to 183 all out in 31.2 overs. Nikhil Patil 65 runs and Sumeir Zaveri 57 runs helped lift the Bombay Gymkhana total. Later, National CC had scored 62 for 4 wickets in 19 overs.
