Protrack FC scored a late goal to overcome formidable Central Railway 1-0 in a quarter-final match of the Mumbai Football Association organized Independence Cup football tournament 2023 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Tuesday.
With the match heading for a goalless finish and the prospects of the tie-breaker being enforced to decide the outcome of the match, Protrack managed to score a decisive winning goal through Bhuvesh Shendre in the final minute of the match to clinch a satisfying win and move to the semi-finals.
In another last eight encounter, Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) defeated another fancied outfit Union Bank of India by an identical 1-0 scoreline. Striker Pratik Saha scored the all-important winning goal to secure RFYC’s success and a place in the semi-finals.
