Century Rayon and Bank of Baroda, both scored identical 4-0 wins in their respective concluding league matches as the Elite (Corporate) Division of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2022-2023 came to a close at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Wednesday evening.
Century Rayon 26 points finished runners-up behind champions Air India (31 points) while last year’s champions Bank of Baroda with 21 points sealed the third spot ahead of Union Bank of India (20 points) finished in fourth position.
Century Rayon proved too good for Income Tax and charged to a fluent victory. They were well-served by a striker Bhuvanesh K. who scored two goals while teammates Shubham G. and Naresh Maibham struck one apiece to round-off the winning tally and finish on a high.
Earlier, Bank of Baroda were also in a dominant mood and had things much their own way as they tamed bottom-placed ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation) 4-0. Bank of Baroda’s prolific striker Chirag Sharma struck two goals while Denzil Mascarenhas and Niranjan Kumar chipped in with one each to seal the win.
In a Women’s Super Division encounter, SC Bacaim defeated India Rush 1-0 with Prekila Tamang scoring the decisive winning goal to secure the win and all three points.

Men Elite Div: Bank of Baroda 4 (Chirag Sharma 2, Denzil Mascarenhas, Niranjan Kumar) beat ESIC 0.
